Jack’s Radio Show
Jack Carrerow, in partnership with KDUN 1030 AM, is offering a new radio show.
Simply called Jack’s Radio Show, it is hosted by the classic oldies station in Reedsport, with a 50,000-watt coverage area from Newport to Eugene to Port Orford, owned by Reedsport residents, Kent and Sandy Abendroth.
Back when the Nelson Brothers played at The Mill Casino-Hotel, Carrerow interviewed both brothers for radio and print and offered a ticket give-away on the radio station. Recently, he also interviewed Sam Andrew, with Big Brother & the Holding Company and organized a similar ticket give-away on KDUN. A record audience, about 650 people, attended the concert at The Green Spot earlier this year.
On his show, which began June 29, 2009, and airs three times a week, noon to 2 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, he interviews acts that are coming to town as well as people in the community.
Carrerow was a sitcom writer in the ’80s and ’90s, who wrote for the television shows Bosom Buddies, Mr. Belvedere and Alice, among others. Check out Carrerow’s bio under “Bylines” on the Web site’s home page.
