Concert to Benefit Peace Harbor Women’s Imaging Center

A free concert will be given on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Florence Events Center.



The concert will be for the benefit of the Peace Harbor Hospital Foundation’s campaign to create a Women’s Imaging Suite including digital mammography and digital ultrasound..


The concert will feature The Poodle Creek Pickers, The Standard Time Orchestra, Everyday People and The New Folksters.


The Poodle Creek Pickers were formed in 1996 by Rick Dobson and Jack Walker and have had many good musicians play in band over the years.  Joining Rick and Jack for this concert will be Hamilton Mays (bass), Eric Sprado (fiddle) and  Charlie Box (guitar).  The “Pickers” will perform a blend of bluegrass and traditional Western music.


The Standard Time Orchestra will play the music of the Big Band era.  They are comprised of  Marty Adams (keyboard), Ron Green (Solo Trumpet I), Barbara Jones (Bass), Richard Jones (Tenor and Alto Sax),  John Stone (Solo Trumpet II), Dr. Deverne Pinnock (Guitar), Virgil Walkley (Trombone) and Will Williams (Drums).


Everyday People will perform a variety of country/western songs. They are Marty Adams (keyboard, bass & vocals),  Aaron Judah (guitar & vocals)  and Emmanuel Bealieu  (percussion & vocals).


The New Folksters will finish the concert with a set of traditional and current folk tunes. They are Judy Adams (vocals), Ron Estep (guitar and vocals), Lynette Kristine (Bass),

John Temples (banjo) and Hal Weiner (guitar, ukulele and vocals).


The concert is sponsored by  Art & Jean Koning, Bill & Mary Beth Hodgson, Coast Radio, Florence Grocery Outlet, John & Amy Bartlett, Hal & Karen Weiner, Nan Osbon, and Steve & Sue Saubert.


Although admission is free, suggested donation at the door is $10.  Tickets will be available at the FEC box office starting May 24th.
